Papa Noel vs Three Wise Men

There are many reasons to believe we are changing our tradition under Americanization  process. For instance, our celebration about The Three Wise Men arriving on 5th January to give us gifts which have previously been asked especially by children. Nowadays, many families prefer to celebrate this event on December 25th through Papa Noel, another figure coming from abroad, breaking our Christian tradition.

 But, what is the reason to this new event?. In my opinion may be another way of acting by markets in order to take advantage of consumerism, applying special campaigns of  advertisement to control people. For this reason, a lot of children have double presents and their parents have to pay the cost of this new product.

On the other hand, we are living on a deep economic crisis, probably the most important that we have ever known and, for this reason, we must consider our position in relation to establish what is essential and what isn’t, discerning the importance of save money, and the  most important issue, teaching our children to control their wishes.
