Best wishes from Lebano.

Hello, how are you?, I have checked in our blogs that you are working very hard with your English and the exams are near. I wish you the best luck.

I arrived to Lebano the last 9^th as I had told you. Here, the environment is peaceful and it is very important in order to have a normal activity, although we know that the neighbouring country, Syria, is close to civil war and this fact might change our situation, however, we are worried not for this problem, the weather may be the worst enemy nowadays, it is raining and snowing every day and as you know , it is very difficult try to know a new environment in this situation.

To be honest, I am homesick for my family, my friends,  my English class friends, my village,  my country, but, on the other hand I think that it is a greatful opportunity to discover not only a unknown world for me, but also to share my life, my feelings and my work whith  comrades from different countries as  Nepal, India, Indonesia, Malasya, France, Italy, etc., and together give our help in order to achieve peace in this country. Furthermore, it is a good opportunity to practice English with  people from different countries.

I am sorry because I have writen later, but I am training in my new position and I got the conexion to Internet last week, for this reason I promise you don´t forget to share with you my new experiencies, although Internet works slow and it is difficult download any links, I´ll try again and again.

The Blue Line

Before last November I didn't know anything about this concept, however after I was selected by the UN like watchkeeper into UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force In Lebano) it began to be a familiar item in my life. I have read  a lot about The Blue Line, about the conflict between Israel and Lebano, that is farther to be  a religious war, as it is normal in the middle east,  it is a complex issue to discover the real motivation of this confrontation. Probably the support of Lebano  of terrorist groups like  Hizbollah  and Hamas, or to be supported by Iran in order to spread Palestine conflict across the Muslim World. I don't know, but the result was the intervention of UN delimiting the border between these countries through an imaginary line called The Blue Line, and my work will be  the surveillance of this imaginary line. It seems a madness.

MOTIVATION

After have I watched this article four times, it has been difficult for me to understand its meaning, but I have tried to get the main ideas and this is the results:
First of all, I agree that money is a motivator, if you don't pay enough, people won't be motivated, because money is probably essential nowadays to cover our needs, but on the other hand, its effect may be important during a short time.
For this reason is necessary to think about other ways in order to get  higher motivation and could be autonomy, mastery and purpose. Autonomy, the desire to be self directed, in my point of view, should be changed by participation, as the capacity to take part in the decisions and share the responsibility about results.-
In addition, I strongly believe that to get motivation is necessary to have  a good environment. It is an important not only about facilities, but also about relationship with the different people within the company.

In relation to education I believe that the instructions show in this article  would be positive taking in consideration that it is very important to engage pupils not only respecting exams and their results. We should raise motivation giving more participation to children in different activities into the class.

Papa Noel vs Three Wise Men

There are many reasons to believe we are changing our tradition under Americanization  process. For instance, our celebration about The Three Wise Men arriving on 5th January to give us gifts which have previously been asked especially by children. Nowadays, many families prefer to celebrate this event on December 25th through Papa Noel, another figure coming from abroad, breaking our Christian tradition.

 But, what is the reason to this new event?. In my opinion may be another way of acting by markets in order to take advantage of consumerism, applying special campaigns of  advertisement to control people. For this reason, a lot of children have double presents and their parents have to pay the cost of this new product.

On the other hand, we are living on a deep economic crisis, probably the most important that we have ever known and, for this reason, we must consider our position in relation to establish what is essential and what isn’t, discerning the importance of save money, and the  most important issue, teaching our children to control their wishes.

PEDESTRIANISATION/CYCLES PATHS.

PEDESTRIANISATION

One of the most important issues for the future generation is looking for healthy methods in order to change the current situation of cities about pollution, safe, traffic accidents, etc.

In my opinion, it would be a good solution to improve pedestrianisation process and for this reason I am going to outline the means that I propose:

First of all, vehicle access to a street should be restricted or, at least to establish special areas for exclusive use of pedestrians. Nowadays there is a real problem in developing cities due to abuse of cars because of fact politicians want to maintain traditional spaces without limiting the use of vehicles. In my opinion, they should forbid the use of automobiles in the center of cities or at least only for public transportation and emergency vehicles.

Another solution to improve this activity would be recovering traditional and rural paths for pedestrians. For instance, it would be necessary to establish the ways used before inventing automobiles. Furthermore, this is a healthy and environmentally friendly solution to solve the problem of heavy traffic, air pollution and traffic accidents.

CYCLE PATHS

Another way to achieve health and environmentally friendly society is developing the use of bicycles in the cities.

We can improve this activity taking different measures:

First of all it would be necessary to establish a network of cycle tracks in urban areas as free routes implemented with strong rules of protection for cyclists. In addition to that, these tracks should be signalized in order to be safer.

These measures will be complemented with a special campaign of public subsidies for buying new cycles and promoting activities in schools about its uses. The objective will be to expand the number of commuters cycling to work, leisure riders out on a weekend ride and school children making safe journeys to school.

What is war?

Probably you think I know the meaning of “War” for my job. However, every day we can discover new effects from it. This morning I have reviewed my email and I have had the opportunity to enjoy with a video which transmits firstly sadness, but it has a special power of hopeful. Would you like to watch it?.

UK out of EU.

THE FREEDOM OF DECIDING.

The last and probably most important news since the EU was founded has been taken last night. As a result the UK has gone out of the EU after new and stronger measures are going to make in order to fight against the current crisis.

Many countries from Europe has been debating to look for the best way to solve economic problem into the EU zone. What is more, the majority of them has been agreed about establishing strong control of each of them to avoid the situation we are living nowadays.

However, one of the most important members of this organization has gone out into the consideration that is most important the freedom of its citizens than to be in the EU.

Spanish governments consider that the EU is the best way to develop our country but none of them has asked for citizens. Is it a slavery act?
